Special Education Teacher | Glorieta, New Mexico

Step into a rewarding contract position supporting middle school students in special education. This full-time opportunity runs Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, beginning August 10, 2026. You’ll work with a diverse caseload of students in grades 6-8, addressing needs that range from mild to severe, and providing critical guidance and instruction to empower every learner’s progress.

Qualifications:

• Valid credentials and experience as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with middle school-aged students, particularly in a resource or self-contained setting
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
• Medicaid NCI # required
• Ability to support students with a range of exceptionalities, from mild to severe
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and families
• Must successfully pass a background check

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans for each student
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
• Assess student progress and adjust strategies as necessary
• Maintain documentation and records in compliance with school and state requirements
• Work closely with other educators, therapists, and families to support the whole child
• Provide advocacy for students within team meetings and day-to-day activities
