This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher working with 9th-12th grade students in a resource inclusion classroom at an elementary school in Gloucester, VA. The position is contract-based for the current school year (CSY) and requires a dedication of 35 hours per week. The caseload includes approximately 18 students, with support from paraprofessionals on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with related services staff to support student progress and accommodations.
- Manage and support a caseload of special education students in inclusion settings.
- Maintain detailed records and communicate effectively with families and school staff.
Qualifications:
- Virginia teaching license with a Special Education endorsement is required.
- Experience in writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- At least 2 years of teaching experience preferred.
- Comfortable working within a team environment and providing guidance to paraprofessionals.
