Special Education Teacher K5 Self-Contained Classroom

Soliant is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support a K–5 self-contained classroom for the 2026–2027 school year.

Assignment Details

Position: Special Education Teacher
Schedule: Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: Full 2026–2027 School Year
Setting: K–5 Self-Contained Classroom
Student Population: Elementary school students receiving specialized instruction
License Requirement: Adaptive Curriculum endorsement required

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students in a K–5 self-contained classroom.
• Develop and implement individualized instruction based on students' academic, developmental, behavioral, and educational needs.
• Support students in meeting their IEP goals and making meaningful academic and functional progress.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation related to IEP goals and services.
• Provide appropriate accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction.
• Implement classroom routines, instructional strategies, and behavior supports appropriate to student needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, related service providers, and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of individualized student goals.
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries within the school environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Special Education teaching license with an Adaptive Curriculum endorsement required.
• Previous experience working in a self-contained special education classroom preferred.
• Experience supporting elementary-aged students preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to provide individualized instruction based on student needs.
• Ability to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, throughout the school year.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching in a K–5 self-contained classroom.
• Experience supporting students with significant academic, developmental, behavioral, or functional needs.
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary school teams and related service providers.
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, accommodations, modifications, and individualized student support.
