Special Education Teacher - Goffstown, New Hampshire

Exciting opportunity available near Goffstown, NH for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students in a Life Skills classroom throughout the 2026–2027 academic year. As part of a contract placement, you will make meaningful contributions to the personal and academic development of students while working collaboratively with paraprofessionals and other staff.

Preferred applicants bring direct experience running high school Life Skills classrooms, but any candidates with a strong background in special education are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid special education teaching certification/license.
• Experience with high school students in Life Skills or special education settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and functional academic objectives.
• Proficiency in transition planning for post-secondary student success.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction within a high school Life Skills classroom, creating a supportive and structured environment.
• Oversee and guide classroom paraprofessionals to promote student achievement and independence.
• Develop, implement, and maintain IEPs and functional goals tailored to student needs.
• Facilitate post-secondary transition planning, ensuring compliance with all state and federal special education requirements.
• Regularly communicate student progress with families, staff, and relevant stakeholders.
