In this position, you might be assigned to a life skills classroom (grades 3-5), ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education, ages 3-PK), functional academics (grades K-2 or grades 3-5), or inclusion/resource settings (grades 3-5). Utilize your expertise to empower students by developing personalized learning plans, adapting instructional strategies, and promoting independence and confidence in every child.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education
  • Previous experience working with diverse learners or in special education settings
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP development
  • Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive classroom climate
  • Organizational skills necessary for documentation and progress monitoring

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and appropriate instructional materials
  • Collaborate closely with general educators, related service providers, and families
  • Support students’ growth both academically and socially, tailoring interventions to student needs
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress updates
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and ongoing training as required
  • Uphold a positive learning environment rooted in empathy, respect, and high expectations
