Special Education Teacher - Goose Creek, South Carolina

We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to work with students at both Cane Bay High School and Timberland High School within the MSD and ED COPE programs. This long-term contract position starts as soon as possible and continues through early June 2027, providing you with an excellent opportunity for meaningful impact in the classroom.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active South Carolina Teaching License in Special Education (Teachers for Tomorrow certifications not accepted)
• Experience supporting high school students (grades 9–12) preferred
• Ability to collaborate with staff, administration, and families to create individualized learning plans
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive educational environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to individual IEP goals and needs within either the MSD or ED COPE program
• Assess students’ academic and behavioral progress while maintaining accurate records
• Develop effective classroom routines and strategies to optimize learning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to adapt curriculum, create behavioral interventions, and provide consultative support
• Attend meetings, contribute to IEP development, and foster relationships with families and caregivers
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in supporting students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
