Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in the Grand Blanc region. Multiple openings are available for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year, serving self-contained classrooms (maximum of 22 students) and resource classrooms for learners in kindergarten through 12th grade. This opportunity focuses on supporting students with cognitive impairments and learning disabilities, with roles suited for those holding endorsements in Learning Disabilities (LD), Emotional Impairment (EI), or Cognitive Impairment (CI). Some flexibility exists for Early Childhood and other Special Education endorsements.
In this onsite, contract-based position, you will empower students in an urban district and benefit from the robust support structure, including a comprehensive special education team, classroom paraprofessionals, behavior specialists, and a dedicated mentor to help you thrive.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Michigan Teacher Certification, preferably with EI or CI endorsement. LD or MDE endorsement ZA (Early Childhood) with another Special Education area is also considered.
- Experience or willingness to develop deep understanding of urban education challenges and resources for students and families.
- Familiarity with, or commitment to learning, the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA Federal Regulations.
- Ability to secure and provide official university transcripts prior to employment.
