This contract opportunity allows you to bring your expertise to a full-time role, working with a single student (aged 8 or 9) who benefits from a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. You’ll be based onsite in a specialized educational setting focused on student-centered growth and behavioral support.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as a Cognitive Impairment (CI) Teacher for an elementary-aged student, focusing on behavior management, mental health, and individualized educational strategies.
- Collaborate closely with a comprehensive team of professionals, including mental health and behavioral specialists, to support the student’s learning and well-being.
- Facilitate academic and social-emotional development tailored to the student’s unique needs, incorporating techniques commonly used in ASD support scenarios.
- Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans, IEPs, and behavior intervention strategies to ensure ongoing progress.
- Maintain open and consistent communication with team members and guardians to maximize student success.
We’re seeking candidates with:
- CI (Cognitive Impairment) certification (required).
- Experience or training supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) needs.
- Strong understanding of behavioral interventions, mental health, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Flexibility and compassion in responding to student needs as they arise.
- Ability to work onsite with hours from 7:30 am – 2:45 pm.
