Special Education Teacher - Grand Haven, Michigan

Four distinct roles are available: Early childhood (self-contained), elementary resource room (self-contained), elementary push-in/pull-out resource room, and grades 6–12 push-in/pull-out resource room.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Michigan
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
• Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Organizational skills to manage classroom records and planning
• Passion for fostering inclusive, engaging classroom environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEPs
• Assess student abilities regularly and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create comprehensive learning plans
• Foster a supportive and positive classroom culture
• Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and participate in IEP and team meetings
• Advocate for student needs and encourage growth, independence, and success
