Four distinct roles are available: Early childhood (self-contained), elementary resource room (self-contained), elementary push-in/pull-out resource room, and grades 6–12 push-in/pull-out resource room.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Michigan
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Organizational skills to manage classroom records and planning
- Passion for fostering inclusive, engaging classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEPs
- Assess student abilities regularly and adjust interventions as needed
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create comprehensive learning plans
- Foster a supportive and positive classroom culture
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and participate in IEP and team meetings
- Advocate for student needs and encourage growth, independence, and success
