Special Education Teacher | Grand Haven, Michigan

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with lower elementary students
• Familiarity with virtual instruction, able to engage students effectively on screen throughout the day
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and special needs interventions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support primarily through virtual platforms for a self-contained classroom
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of each learner
• Manage a classroom environment that encourages participation and positive behavior
• Collaborate with other educators and related service providers to ensure a cohesive support system for each student
• Track and report students’ progress towards IEP goals, making adjustments as needed
• Maintain regular communication with families about student successes and areas for growth
