Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of IEPs and ability to develop and implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills when collaborating with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to addressing a range of learning abilities and challenges.
- Creative problem-solving skills to support differentiated instruction within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ unique learning profiles.
- Draft, review, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Track student progress, assess learning, and adjust instructional methods to ensure growth.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to create inclusive classroom environments.
- Communicate proactively with families, providing updates and guidance regarding student performance and needs.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful classroom culture.
