Make a meaningful impact supporting students with complex needs in a vibrant educational setting near Great Barrington, MA. This full-time contract opportunity calls for skilled Special Education Teachers prepared to serve in Substantially Separate Classrooms, working with K-1st grade and 3rd-5th grade students who have significant cognitive and physical disabilities.

You’ll play a vital role in guiding and nurturing children—some of whom are non-verbal or on the autism spectrum—within a collaborative environment. A strong understanding of specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis is highly valued for this role. You’ll join an onsite team, work collaboratively with Registered Behavior Technicians, and ensure students have the support they need to thrive.

Skills & Experience Desired:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience with severe/profound disabilities in a classroom setting
  • Proficiency with toileting support, assistive technology, and adapting curriculum
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
  • Background working with non-verbal students and those on the autism spectrum is a plus
  • Comfort collaborating with RBTs and related service professionals
  • Adaptability and a compassionate, student-centered approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and adapt lessons for students with diverse learning, physical, and behavioral needs
  • Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress
  • Offer or oversee toileting and mobility support as needed
  • Collaborate with support staff and therapists to maximize student engagement and growth
  • Foster a positive, structured classroom environment
