Two contract opportunities are available, serving middle school (grades 6-8) and high school students with mild to moderate disabilities. In this position, you will deliver specialized instruction to students with varying disabilities—including learning disabilities, emotional behavior disorders, and mild intellectual disabilities—in a shared setting. Your expertise with autism and commitment to positive educational outcomes will be highly valued as you implement effective strategies, track student progress, and work in partnership with other educators and families.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education certification (License #2801) required.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students on the autism spectrum.
- Previous classroom experience at the middle or high school level preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and positive classroom environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs in a cross-categorical setting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to meet varying abilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and goals.
- Utilize evidence-based practices for classroom management and engagement.
