Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a cross-categorical high school classroom setting, supporting students with a variety of mild-to-moderate disabilities. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse group of learners using inclusive strategies, beginning August 18, 2026, and continuing through June 10, 2027.

In this role, you will combine skills to meet the needs of students with learning disabilities, emotional behavior disorders, mild intellectual disabilities, and those on the autism spectrum within a collaborative environment. Your specialized certification and commitment will help foster an environment of growth and achievement for every student.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education certification (License #2801)
  • Demonstrated expertise managing varied mild-to-moderate disabilities
  • Strong experience supporting students with autism
  • Ability to effectively design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and staff

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and interventions for high school students in a cross-categorical environment
  • Evaluate student needs, track progress, and collaborate on appropriate modifications and accommodations
  • Develop and maintain IEPs while partnering with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Cultivate a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that respects individual learning styles
  • Communicate regularly with caregivers and school professionals to ensure a coordinated approach
