Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Prior classroom experience with middle-grade students preferred
- Understanding and application of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors and therapists
- Compassion, adaptability, and commitment to students’ personal and academic development
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver purposeful, differentiated instruction to meet each student's unique needs within a therapeutic, structured classroom environment
- Foster a safe, supportive atmosphere that encourages positive behavioral and emotional growth
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, collaborating with families and school staff to ensure progress
- Integrate therapeutic strategies in daily teaching, working closely with counseling and support staff
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust plans to maximize learning outcomes
- Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with educational best practices and behavioral interventions
