A school district in Greenville, SC is seeking two full-time Special Education Teachers to support Employability Classes for high school students in grades 9-12. These contract positions will run through May 22, 2025, and provide an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective lessons tailored to high school students in Employability Classes
  • Supervise and manage classroom activities, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with classroom aides assigned to each teacher
  • Maintain accurate grading records and enter grades regularly
  • Develop, write, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and lead corresponding IEP meetings
  • Ensure compliance with special education laws and district policies
  • Utilize planning periods effectively for lesson preparation and administrative duties

Qualifications:

  • Valid South Carolina Educator Certification with a Multi-Categorical or Intellectual Disabilities (ID) endorsement or specialty
  • Experience working with high school students with special needs preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for managing caseloads and documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with support staff and administration

Location & Schedule:

  • Greenville, SC
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
  • High school setting
