A school district in Greenville, SC is seeking two full-time Special Education Teachers to support Employability Classes for high school students in grades 9-12. These contract positions will run through May 22, 2025, and provide an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special needs.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective lessons tailored to high school students in Employability Classes
- Supervise and manage classroom activities, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with classroom aides assigned to each teacher
- Maintain accurate grading records and enter grades regularly
- Develop, write, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and lead corresponding IEP meetings
- Ensure compliance with special education laws and district policies
- Utilize planning periods effectively for lesson preparation and administrative duties
Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Educator Certification with a Multi-Categorical or Intellectual Disabilities (ID) endorsement or specialty
- Experience working with high school students with special needs preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills for managing caseloads and documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively with support staff and administration
Location & Schedule:
- Greenville, SC
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
- High school setting
