Special Education Teacher - Greenwich, CT

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher, working with elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting near Greenwich, CT. In this contract position, you’ll focus on core academic subjects while supporting a small group of approximately 8 students. Your expertise will play a key role in fostering each child’s growth and success.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

• Possess a valid Connecticut Special Education Endorsement
• Skilled in developing, writing, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Demonstrated experience presenting at and participating in IEP meetings
• Proficient in conducting student assessments and tracking academic and behavioral goals
• Minimum of two years of recent teaching experience in Special Education

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction across all core subjects for students in a self-contained elementary classroom
• Write comprehensive IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Present student progress and participate actively in IEP and team meetings
• Assess students’ academic and developmental performance regularly
• Accurately track and document progress toward individual goals
• Collaborate with other educators, paraprofessionals, and families to maximize student success
• District office administration will manage case management responsibilities
