Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Endorsement
  • At least 2 years of recent teaching experience with high school learners
  • Strong skills in writing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
  • Comprehensive understanding of diverse learning needs and instructional strategies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in core subject areas
  • Write and implement effective IEPs tailored to each student's strengths and needs
  • Present at and participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Assess student progress, conduct educational testing, and utilize results in goal tracking
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom environment
  • Case management supported by district office administration
