Special Education Teacher in Greenwood, IN

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification required
• For Life Skills role: Moderate Intervention certification
• For Structured Teach: Mild Intervention certification
• Classroom experience working with students with disabilities preferred
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability with strong communication skills
• Classroom management expertise and commitment to differentiated instruction

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Deliver lessons and activities supporting academic, social, and personal development
• Use evidence-based teaching strategies to promote engagement and progress
• Collaborate closely with support staff, paraprofessionals, and families
• Maintain accurate documentation and ongoing assessments
• Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom atmosphere

Role Specifics:

• Life Skills: Moderate Intervention certification required
  • Schedule: 7:20 a.m.–3:10 p.m.
  • Serve a caseload of approximately 10–15 students
• Structured Teach (Autism Support): Mild Intervention certification required
  • Schedule: 8:20 a.m.–4:10 p.m.
  • Caseload ranges from 10–15 students
