Special Ed Teacher | Greenwood, South Carolina

In this contract special education teaching position, you'll lead a classroom of approximately 10-12 students, working side-by-side with three dedicated assistants to ensure each child receives the individualized instruction and care they deserve.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher
• Demonstrated experience or passion for working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Strong organizational skills and flexibility to adapt teaching strategies as needed
• Ability to collaborate effectively with instructional assistants, other staff, and families
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering growth and independence in students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs
• Provide engaging, differentiated instruction in both academic and life skills domains
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly
• Work closely with assistants to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom climate
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other professionals
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
