Looking for an opportunity to make an impact in the lives of exceptional students? Multiple contract roles are now open for experienced Special Education Teachers. These positions support a range of needs, from academic resource instruction to comprehensive self-contained classrooms.

Current openings include:

  • “Core” roles working as part of a collaborative special education team, providing co-teaching/inclusion, direct instruction, and/or pull-out services.
  • One Academic Seminar/Resource position focused on providing targeted academic support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • A Transition Teacher role involving coordination of job placements, delivery of direct instruction, and management of some IEPs.
  • 5K Transition Teacher position in a self-contained classroom (with assistants), guiding young learners with disabilities as they transition gradually to the regular classroom.
  • Middle school self-contained classroom for students with moderate disabilities (grades 6-8), partnered with two classroom assistants.

Qualifications sought:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Active Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience with IEP development, implementation, and documentation
  • Ability to collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and families
  • Flexibility to adapt instruction and behavior management strategies to student needs
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specially designed instruction tailored to each student’s IEP
  • Creating inclusive and supportive classroom environments
  • Maintaining accurate records and progress monitoring
  • Collaborating with other teachers, staff, and families to support student success
  • Providing direct and small group instruction, behavior support, and transition planning as appropriate
