A school district in South Carolina is seeking two Special Education Teachers for high school employability classes serving grades 9–12. These full-time contract positions will begin as soon as possible and continue through May 22, 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom instruction and direct supervision to students in employability classes
  • Plan lessons and coordinate with classroom aides to ensure effective support
  • Manage grade entries and maintain accurate student records
  • Ensure compliance with special education requirements by writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and conducting IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with staff and families to support student development and success

Qualifications:

  • Valid South Carolina Educator Certification with a Multi-categorical or Intellectual Disabilities endorsement or specialty
  • Experience working with high school students with disabilities, preferably in employability or life skills curricula
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for effective lesson planning and compliance documentation
  • Ability to collaborate with classroom aides and other team members

Location:

  • Greenville, South Carolina (Southside High School)

Hours:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) with dedicated planning periods
