Candidates with at least 2 years of experience in special education (SPED) are strongly preferred, especially those who bring energy, empathy, and flexibility to their classroom practice. Your background in life skills instruction will help guide elementary-aged students toward greater independence and confidence.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • At least two years of special education teaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge of life skills curriculum and strategies for individualized instruction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver life skills instruction to elementary students in both individual and small group settings
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
  • Monitor progress, adapt teaching methods, and maintain diligent documentation
  • Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment
