Special Education Teacher | Gretna, Louisiana

Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certification, with a Special Education endorsement (required)
• Current credentials; candidates not holding the required license are not eligible
• Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
• Ability to complete district-required drug screen and fingerprinting, in addition to standard credentialing processes
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and adaptive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with special needs, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies as necessary
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to develop and implement effective IEPs
• Communicate regularly with families, administrators, and related service providers
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and meet all compliance requirements
• Participate in professional development opportunities as assigned
