Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as an itinerant resource, supporting multiple schools throughout the academic year
  • Provide guidance and hands-on support to non-certified teachers within special education environments
  • Contribute to IEP writing, progress monitoring, and data collection activities
  • Offer training and strategies for instructional best practices and classroom management
  • Assist with compliance, reporting, and documentation according to district standards
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to optimize student learning and development

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Current Louisiana Department of Education certification with a Special Education endorsement (active and in good standing)
  • Proven experience teaching or supporting special education programs
  • Ability to work effectively across different school sites and age groups
  • Strong skills in IEP development, student progress reporting, and instructional adaptation
  • Commitment to upholding all district and state compliance requirements
  • Successful completion of district-mandated drug testing, fingerprinting, and standard background checks
  • Must be available for full-time hours (35 hours/week) and ready to start as soon as possible
