Special Education Teacher in Groton, CT

A full-time special education teaching position is available for a Middle School Life Skills classroom serving grades 6-8. This contract role begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with life skills needs in a self-contained middle school setting
• Writing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support student growth and compliance with all applicable regulations
• Collaborating with staff and families to create a supportive learning environment
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behaviors

Qualifications and experience desired:

• Certified Special Education Teacher credential
• Familiarity with Life Skills curriculum and strategies for middle school students
• Experience writing and managing IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Strong communication and organizational skills
