Your expertise in special education will be essential as you work with a dedicated group of students who require creative, individualized teaching methods. Working within the Middle School Life Skills program, you will deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student’s abilities, fostering both academic growth and essential daily living skills.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in Special Education (state requirements apply)
  • Previous experience within Life Skills or self-contained classrooms strongly preferred
  • Solid background writing and monitoring IEPs for middle school students
  • Ability to deliver individualized and small group instruction
  • Strong collaborative skills for working with support staff and related service providers
  • Commitment to nurturing a structured, supportive learning environment

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement lessons targeting both academic content and life skills for students with varying needs
  • Develop, write, and actively monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assess student progress and adjust strategies to maximize learning outcomes
  • Foster engagement and independence through differentiated instruction and positive behavior supports
  • Collaborate with families, specialists, and school staff to support holistic student development
  • Maintain detailed documentation and compliances related to special education programs
