This assignment begins August 27 and continues through mid-November, offering a consistent Monday to Friday schedule from 7:30 am to 2:45 pm. You’ll work with a manageable caseload of 7-10 students, providing tailored support and instructional strategies that foster growth and success.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education License required
- Previous experience in special education settings strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Clear communication skills to collaborate with families, colleagues, and related service providers
- Flexible, student-centered approach that values inclusion and differentiation
- Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and schedules
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in alignment with students’ IEPs
- Assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Collaborate regularly with general education teachers and ancillary staff
- Foster a respectful, encouraging classroom environment where each student can thrive
- Maintain accurate student records and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide effective behavioral and academic supports within a structured daily schedule
