Special Education Teacher - Gurnee, IL

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-5 students in a self-contained Special Education classroom. This position is located in the vibrant area surrounding Gurnee, IL, providing essential services during the academic year from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027. You'll work closely with a manageable caseload of 8-12 students, focusing on individual growth and promoting a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification for Illinois
• Demonstrated experience or interest in self-contained classroom settings
• Strong understanding of IEP development and differentiated instruction
• Ability to foster positive relationships with students, guardians, and school staff
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to student success across a range of abilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and adapt materials for students in grades K-5 with special needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with families and school teams

• Track and communicate student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure meaningful growth
• Participate in professional development and adhere to district policies and best practices
