Special Education Teacher - Hackettstown, New Jersey

A school near Hackettstown, NJ seeks a passionate Special Education Teacher to make an immediate impact on high school students this upcoming school year. This contract position will cover a maternity leave, concluding on 5/28. You'll support students in both English and Special Education classes, helping learners grow and succeed during an important transition.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid New Jersey Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Demonstrated experience with high school student populations
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Ability to teach and support students with diverse learning needs in English
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in both English and Special Education settings to high school students
• Adapt and modify lessons to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring inclusion and access to curriculum
• Manage a designated caseload, overseeing progress toward IEP goals
• Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings, maintain required documentation, and adhere to all regulatory guidelines
