Special Education Teacher - Haledon, New Jersey

Qualifications:

• Valid Teaching Certification: TOSD (Teacher of Students with Disabilities) and/or TOH (Teacher of the Handicapped).
• Additional Math certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in Special Education, ideally in a school setting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction in accordance with students’ IEPs.
• Utilize a range of teaching methods to support diverse learners, particularly in Math.
• Collaborate consistently with general education teachers, support staff, and families.
• Provide detailed progress reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Adjust teaching strategies based on ongoing assessment and student needs.
• Champion each student's strengths and address areas requiring growth.
