Take on an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher supporting students across elementary and middle grades during a key maternity leave coverage assignment. In this position, you'll play a vital part in fostering academic and social development for students with varying needs. Your work will involve creating and implementing individualized education programs, collaborating closely with teachers, families, and service providers, while ensuring each student receives the support they deserve.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide tailored instruction and modifications for students on a split caseload (elementary and middle school).
- Develop, execute, and monitor IEPs to meet individual learning objectives.
- Document progress and adjust educational approaches based on student growth.
- Work collaboratively with general education staff, support teams, and parents to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team sessions, and other relevant school-based consultations.
- Maintain a positive, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Current CT Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
