Special Education Teacher | Hamlet, North Carolina

Bring your passion for supporting young learners to a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for elementary students ages 6-8. This role begins immediately and extends through the end of the school year. You’ll be leading a separate setting classroom, making a significant impact on students who benefit from specialized instruction. Each day, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, you’ll foster growth and learning in a supportive educational environment near Hamlet, NC.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Special Education Teacher certification (state credentials required)
• Experience working with elementary-aged children in special education settings
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities
• Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), differentiated instruction, and curriculum adaptation
• Professional, compassionate, and adaptable approach to teaching diverse needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct and support a separate setting classroom of students ages 6-8
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s goals and needs
• Collaborate with support staff, paraprofessionals, and other educators to ensure comprehensive care and instruction
• Employ creative and evidence-based teaching strategies to cultivate student engagement and progress
• Document progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings and parent communications as needed
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
