Make a meaningful impact working as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with mental health and behavioral needs in a self-contained program for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This contract position is located near Hampton, NH, at a local middle school. You’ll play a key role providing specialized instruction and comprehensive case management for a caseload of approximately 10-16 middle school students, collaborating closely with school staff and families.
Your workday runs from 7:30 AM to 2:20 PM, with a weekly commitment of 32.5-35 hours. This rewarding opportunity allows you to make a real difference while engaging in evaluations, developing and managing IEPs, preparing detailed reports, and participating in collaborative meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active NH Teaching License is required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in behavioral or mental health self-contained settings
- Knowledge of IEP process, assessments, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering positive relationships and supporting student growth
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with mental health and behavioral needs within a self-contained classroom
- Manage all aspects of the IEP process including evaluations, development, and compliance
- Conduct case management, student progress tracking, and regular parent and team collaboration
- Prepare and submit reports as needed
- Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
