Special Education Teacher | Hampton, South Carolina

Step into a contract role supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher for the NSY 26/27 school year. This position centers on delivering instruction and guidance in a resource classroom setting for 3rd to 5th grade students. With a close-knit caseload of just seven students, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on each learner’s educational journey.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Previous experience working with elementary-age students, preferably in a resource or similar classroom setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to individualize instruction based on student strengths and needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, colleagues, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and academic support to students in Grades 3-5 within a resource classroom
• Develop, review, and implement IEPs, ensuring compliance with all legal and educational requirements
• Create and adapt lesson plans that foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers and school staff to support student integration and achievement
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and report regularly on goal attainment and growth
• Engage in ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for success
