Special Education Teacher - Hanover, Indiana

Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year! Two full-time positions are available, starting August 10th and continuing through May 26th, providing the chance to make a meaningful difference every day.

Your expertise will support students at both the preschool and elementary levels. For one of these openings, mornings will be spent nurturing preschool learners Tuesday through Friday. Afternoons, plus all day Mondays, will focus on students with Learning Disabilities in the elementary setting. This role consists of 37.5 hours per week and offers a highly competitive pay rate of $45 per hour.

Ideal qualifications and experience:

• Active Indiana teaching certification in any Exceptional Needs area relevant to the Preschool School Setting.
• Previous experience working in special education or supporting students with various learning needs.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood and elementary learning principles, strategies, and accommodations.
• Outstanding ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Adaptability and commitment to creating inclusive, engaging, and differentiated instruction.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each child’s unique strengths and areas of need.
• Collaborating closely with general education teachers, therapists, specialists, and families to ensure the best outcomes.
• Utilizing evidence-based interventions and classroom management strategies.
• Documenting student progress and maintaining detailed records in compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Attending professional development and participating in regular team meetings.
