What you’ll need for success:

  • Active Special Education Teacher certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in special education (SPED) preferred, particularly with elementary-aged students
  • Strong background in implementing life skills curricula and IEPs (Individualized Education Plans)
  • Excellent communication abilities to engage with students, parents, and team members
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and patient approach for individualized instruction
  • Enthusiasm for fostering a positive learning environment

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and delivering effective instruction tailored to each student’s learning needs
  • Collaborating with other professionals to create and carry out individualized education plans
  • Utilizing evidence-based strategies to support academic and functional skill development
  • Managing classroom behavior to ensure a safe, encouraging space for all
  • Tracking student progress and providing ongoing feedback to families and the educational team
  • Participating in professional development as needed
