Special Education Teacher in Harker Heights, TX

Placement will be based upon your certification area and prior experience, ensuring that you will be a strong fit for your assigned caseload.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Teaching Certification
• Special Education, EC-12 certification required
• Must achieve at least 18 points in Section D of the Texas Content Competency Worksheet for Special Education Teachers
• Ability to collaborate with general and special education staff, families, and outside service providers
• Strong organizational, communication, and instructional skills
• Passion for encouraging growth and independence among students with diverse needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
• Adapt curriculum and instructional techniques to serve students across various grades
• Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications as needed
• Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with parents and colleagues
• Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and professional development activities
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
