Special Education Teacher in Harrington, DE

This role offers flexibility—full-time or part-time schedules are available based on your preference and availability. The assignment is set to begin in the new school year and extends through June 12, 2027. Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Delaware Early Childhood Special Education license/certification is required
• Experience working specifically with children aged 3-5 in a special education environment
• Familiarity with a range of disabilities and instructional adaptations
• Background or knowledge in implementing strategies for students with negative behaviors
• Desire and enthusiasm for working in early childhood settings, not just general special education
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver instructional plans tailored to developmental and individual needs
• Employ positive behavioral supports and interventions as needed
• Maintain diligent progress monitoring and create IEPs in partnership with the team
• Foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment centered on developmentally appropriate practices
• Engage with families and specialists to ensure holistic support for each child
