Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with junior high and/or high school students
  • Knowledge of special education laws, practices, and compliance
  • Skilled in IEP development, documentation, and progress monitoring
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with general education teachers to provide modifications and accommodations

Responsibilities:

  • Teach resource classes for junior high and high school students with mild disabilities
  • Deliver self-contained instruction and support classroom management to maximize learning
  • Partner with general education teachers to modify curriculum and assessment as needed
  • Write, review, and implement IEPs in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth
  • Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding student progress and needs
