A special education teaching opportunity is available at a middle school in Watertown, CT, supporting a self-contained Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program. This contract position focuses on providing individualized instruction and support to a small group of 5 students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
- Delivering instruction in a self-contained classroom focused on Social Emotional Learning.
- Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborating with related service providers and school staff to ensure a comprehensive support system.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional wellness and academic growth.
Desired qualifications include:
- Valid special education teaching certification.
- Experience working with middle school-aged students, particularly in self-contained SEL settings.
