Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid certification or licensure in Special Education (or eligibility in Connecticut)
  • Proven classroom experience working as a Special Education Teacher
  • Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff
  • Creativity and adaptability in lesson planning and instruction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Modify curriculum and instructional techniques to accommodate a range of learning styles and abilities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student autonomy and respect
  • Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, specialists, and families for student-centered planning
  • Track progress through formative assessments and maintain thorough, compliant documentation
  • Participate in team meetings, IEP conferences, and ongoing professional development
