With a contract extending through June 2027 and a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, this role offers the chance to build lasting student relationships and positively impact their educational journey.

You'll provide direct instruction and targeted interventions for middle and high school students, working collaboratively to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Your expertise in managing caseloads and crafting effective IEPs will drive student growth and empowerment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid CT Special Education certification (165 or 265); consideration for DSAP-certified candidates
  • Strong background working with students in grades 6–12 in resource or co-teaching environments
  • Experience with IEP writing, case management, and instructional delivery for secondary learners
  • Proven ability to differentiate instruction and advocate for students with diverse needs
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and update IEPs in alignment with student strengths and needs
  • Deliver engaging direct instruction, both in small groups and inclusive classroom settings
  • Coordinate and collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and families to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation and fulfill all compliance requirements related to case management
  • Serve as a key resource for classroom teachers regarding accommodations, modifications, and inclusive practices
