Ideal candidates will possess:

• A valid Connecticut teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility for the Durational Shortage Area Permit (DSAP)
• Prior experience working with middle school students or within special education settings is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of practices and regulations applicable to special education programs
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support diverse learners
• Enthusiasm for fostering a supportive classroom environment

Primary responsibilities include:

• Providing specialized instruction and creating tailored lesson plans to address the learning needs of students with varying abilities
• Managing a caseload of up to 10 students, ensuring individualized attention and progress monitoring
• Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to facilitate student success
• Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to all state and federal special education regulations
• Participating in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
