Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid certification to teach Special Education in Connecticut, or eligibility to obtain
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
• Experience with IEPs, progress monitoring, and adapting curriculum to diverse learning needs

• Ability to foster a positive, respectful, and engaging classroom climate
• Previous experience in K–12 settings preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraeducators, families, and related service providers to support student growth
• Develop and update lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools for students with varying abilities
• Maintain accurate records, track student progress, and participate in IEP meetings
• Provide behavioral support and classroom management strategies in accordance with school policies
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school activities
