Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education certification
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with IEPs and 504 plans
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with parents, general education teachers, and related services staff
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and classroom management abilities
- Understanding of compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, adapt, and implement individualized instructional strategies and lesson plans for students with varying disabilities
- Monitor and document student progress toward educational goals, adjusting interventions as needed
- Facilitate IEP meetings and develop relevant, measurable goals in conjunction with team members
- Provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Employ differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and behavior management as appropriate
- Work collaboratively with families, therapists, and other staff to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with education laws and school policies
