Key Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) certification is required
- Classroom experience or strong understanding of working with students with mild intellectual disabilities
- Strong knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, and developing individual learning plans
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs in a supportive classroom environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Primary Duties:
- Deliver focused instruction within a core replacement setting for elementary students
- Create, implement, and monitor instruction tailored to each student’s IEP
- Adjust grade-level curriculum and teaching strategies to individual learning profiles
- Track and document student progress, communicating effectively with families and staff
- Coordinate with general and special education teachers, related service providers, and administrators to support each student’s academic and social success
- Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom culture
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing to meaningful goal setting
