Special Education Teacher - Harvest, Alabama

Key Qualifications

• Hold (or be eligible for) an Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in Special Education, including through reciprocity.
• Experience with IEP development and progress monitoring, with strong skills in implementing accommodations/modifications.
• Prior success in special education caseload management, particularly in both resource/collaborative and self-contained classroom environments.
• Comfortable with parent communication and collaborating alongside general education, support staff, and administration.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying grade levels and settings, as district needs may evolve.
• Ability to provide behavioral support and intervention as needed.

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver direct instruction and manage the education plans of students with diverse learning needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring all services and accommodations are executed with fidelity.
• Collaborate on eligibility and placement decisions, working closely with resource specialists and the Special Education Director/Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, case management files, and progress reports.
• Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment and work collaboratively with school teams and families.
