Special Education Teacher - Harvey, LA

Qualifications:

• Valid Louisiana Department of Education certification with a SPED endorsement (unfortunately, TA/TAT credentials cannot be accepted)
• Current, active certification in Louisiana—ready to begin without licensing delays
• Ability to successfully complete district-required drug screening and fingerprinting, in addition to standard credentialing
• Previous experience with special education students preferred

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of each student on your caseload
• Create, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Foster positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environments
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, families, and support staff
• Engage in ongoing communication with guardians about student progress and needs
• Support students in developing both academic and social-emotional skills
• Ensure documentation is up to date and meets compliance standards

Key Details:

• Assignment runs August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027
• 35 hours per week; 7-hour workdays plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch
