Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education Certification with Special Education (SPED) endorsement
- Strong background in special education methodologies, including IEP development, instructional modifications, and student progress monitoring
- Proven ability to support and collaborate with classroom teachers
- Commitment to following all district credentialing (drug test, fingerprinting, and comprehensive background checks)
- Flexibility to travel between assigned campuses as needed (number of schools assigned will be determined by the district)
- Availability for a full-time schedule: 35 hours/week, Monday through Friday, aligned to the school calendar
- Only candidates with the required active certification will be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Support non-certified educators in the special education setting across multiple campuses
- Guide IEP writing, data collection, progress reporting, and the implementation of instructional strategies
- Coach, mentor, and model best teaching practices for SPED students
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district requirements for special education
- Develop and sustain positive relationships with school staff and families to promote student success
