Special Education Teacher - Harwood, TX

In this role, you’ll work with students in:

• Life skills classrooms (grades 3-5)
• Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) for ages 3 through Pre-Kindergarten
• Functional academics (grades K-2 and 3-5)
• Inclusion/resource settings for grades 3-5

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Current certification in Special Education
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong ability to adapt lessons for diverse learners with varying needs
• Effective collaboration skills with teachers, support staff, and families
• Excellent communication skills and a patient, encouraging demeanor
• Previous experience in life skills instruction, ECSE, functional academics, or inclusion desired

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to student IEP goals
• Foster social, emotional, and academic growth by utilizing evidence-based strategies
• Modify and adapt curriculum to meet a range of learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate closely with general education staff, therapists, and families to create a supportive, inclusive environment
• Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation
• Positively manage classroom routines and behavior to promote engagement and learning
