This unique contract opportunity calls for a bilingual (Spanish/English) educator who can form strong, consistent relationships with both the student and their family. As this student’s primary educational resource, you’ll play a pivotal role in their academic journey while collaborating with a passionate interdisciplinary team—including OT, PT, and SLP professionals. This year-round role begins as soon as possible (or next school year) and extends through the end of the 2027 school year, with the goal of providing stable, long-term support.
Desired Background & Qualifications:
- Certification and state licensure as a Special Education Teacher
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English is highly preferred; however, non-bilingual candidates are also encouraged to apply (an interpreter may be provided)
- Experience working one-on-one with medically fragile or bed-bound students strongly valued
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learning and accessibility needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially with multidisciplinary teams and non-English-speaking families
- Commitment to consistency and building trusted relationships with families over multiple years preferred
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized special education services in person (virtual instruction is not offered for this role)
- Collaborate closely with OT, PT, SLP, and administrators to create and implement an effective educational plan
- Communicate regularly and compassionately with the student’s family, fostering a supportive learning environment
- Adjust instruction as the student’s needs evolve, with potential for increased hours
