Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting middle school students in a sub separate program tailored for 7th and 8th graders diagnosed with autism and/or intellectual delays. Working from 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM, you’ll have the opportunity to create a nurturing classroom environment where every student is set up for success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (appropriate to Massachusetts regulations)
- Previous experience with middle school-aged students preferred
- Familiarity with supporting students diagnosed with autism and intellectual delays
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal requirements
- Design differentiated lesson plans to address a wide range of learning needs
- Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate regularly with other teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Engage families and encourage meaningful involvement in the educational process
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation as required
