Special Education Teacher in Haverhill, MA

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting middle school students in a sub separate program tailored for 7th and 8th graders diagnosed with autism and/or intellectual delays. Working from 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM, you’ll have the opportunity to create a nurturing classroom environment where every student is set up for success.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (appropriate to Massachusetts regulations)
• Previous experience with middle school-aged students preferred
• Familiarity with supporting students diagnosed with autism and intellectual delays
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal requirements
• Design differentiated lesson plans to address a wide range of learning needs
• Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate regularly with other teachers, specialists, and support staff
• Engage families and encourage meaningful involvement in the educational process
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation as required
